The Vice-Rectorate for Culture, Sports and Social Responsibility of the University of Castilla-La Mancha has approved the celebration of the summer course “Introduction to Quantum Software Programming with QPath” in Talavera de la Reina from July 20-21, 2021.
In order to provide the attendees of the summer course with a quantum software development platform, the QPath platform has been selected. José Luis Hevia, CTO of aQuantum, will participate as a speaker to show the possibilities and teach the use of this platform.
QPath as a general-purpose quantum platform offers many advantages for training. Among those advantages are:
– It is 100% technology and quantum computing paradigm agnostic and can provide the different components, scaling required for running experiments in the most optimal way possible (both in simulators and quantum computers).
– Efficiently supports both quantum computing approaches (gate-based and annealing), which will be decisive for the most appropriate quantum solution to be used in the different challenges to be solved, taking into account the best possible algorithm to be applied without depending on the technological approach.
– It offers a complete technological ecosystem that favors the integration of hybrid systems (classical-quantum) in an agile way.
The course will focus on learning and acquiring quantum software programming skills. Thus, the two-day course will consist of a first day in which the fundamentals of quantum computing will be presented as well as the main current quantum software algorithms. The second day, which is more practical, will include a workshop on agnostic programming of quantum software using the QPath tool.
The directors of the course consider it very valuable to have a real tool from the industry, which will undoubtedly contribute to the quantum literacy of the attendees and will allow to specialize the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Talavera de la Reina and boost the quantum computing sector in Castilla-La Mancha and Spain.
