The UMIQ aQuantum-UEx (Joint Research Unit in Quantum Software) of aQuantum and the Universidad de Extremadura (UEx) aims to carry out joint research work related to research and development in the area of Quantum Software applied to Life Sciences, as well as to promote the training activities of the aQuantum unit in these areas in Extremadura. The QuantumPath® platform is used in the research and training activities carried out within the framework of UMIQ.
Organized by the Universidad de Extremadura (UEx), aQuantum participates in the course “Introducción al desarrollo de Software Cuántico” (in Spanish) as part of the UMIQ aQuantum-UEx agreement. The course will be held from June 12 to 16, 2023, at the Polytechnic School of Cáceres of the UEx.
The 30-hour course (equivalent to 3 ECTs credits), will teach attendees the fundamental principles of quantum software development and will allowthem to get started in the exciting world of quantum systems.
Attendees will acquire essential skills such as knowing the main quantum gates and their use, understanding the most relevant applications of current quantum software and learning the use of quantum algorithms in service-oriented software. In addition, students will learn how to use the most important simulation tools and access to real quantum computers in order to put the acquired knowledge into practice.
The self-developed course material will be available through the UEx Virtual Campus, where attendees will be able to access exclusive content, interact with other students and faculty to solve your doubts and improve your learning.
The structure of the course is as follows:
– Thematic unit 1: Introduction to quantum programming (0,6 credits).
– Thematic unit 2: Quantum primitives (0,6 credits)
– Thematic unit 3: Applications (0.6 credits)
– Thematic unit 4: Quantum services (0.6 credits)
– Thematic unit 5: QPath and the professional development of quantum software (0,6 credits)
José Luis Hevia, Ezequiel Murina and Gabriel Sobrino, members of aQuantum, will teach unit 5, “QPath and the professional development of quantum software”.
