Aurelio Martinez and Guido Peterssen, members of aQuantum, have published in The QPath Blog the article “QrEngineer APP beta 1: quantum software reengineering tool (II)”, in which the authors announce the release of QModernization, a new module of QrEngineer, the APP of QuantumPath®.
In this second installment the authors, in addition to announcing the release of beta 1 of the other QrEngineer APP module, QModernization, show the functionalities of this module that make possible, using KDM models (Knowledge Discovery Metamodel), the modernization of quantum software with this QuantumPath® APP.
QModernization is the result of years of research and development by an aQuantum team composed of research scientists and engineers from Alarcos Group and aQuantum, working on these tasks with the aim of defining a model for the reengineering and modernization of quantum software, as well as determining the technical feasibility of developing the solutions that make this possible.
The beta 1 of the QModernization tool supports quantum circuits developed in the following languages:
- Microsoft Q# (Q Sharp)
- OpenQASM 3.0
The article shows, step by step, a project to modernize an algorithm developed with Q#.
In the summary, the authors emphasize that, although quantum software modernization still has a long way to go to reach the full case tools to which they aspire, they consider it useful to share the first steps in this direction, which will show the progress and maturity of these tools.
You can access the QrEngineer APP through QuantumPath®.
The aQuantum Team congratulates Aurelio, Pepe, and Guido for the publication of this article.
