On April 30th, Ignacio García Rodríguez de Guzmán, Senior Researcher at aQuantum and Professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, presented the Keynote entitled “Advances in Quantum Software Engineering“, in the context of the XXVI Ibero-American Conference on Software Engineering (CIbSE 2023).
In this Keynote, a retrospective vision of the origin of quantum computing was offered. In addition, its development, projection, demand (at industrial level) and degree of expectation with respect to the challenges that arise were evaluated, presenting Quantum Software Engineering as a critical area to develop, considering it as the differentiating factor that will critically influence the success or failure of this paradigm, and how environments such as QuantumPath® already offer support to carry out various processes of Quantum Software Engineering.
Throughout the talk, several important aspects to consider with respect to Computer Engineering curricula were discussed, as well as the Quantum Software Engineering competences that new engineers will require for a good performance of their profession in this field.
The aQuantum Team congratulates Nacho for his contribution to the dissemination of Quantum Software Engineering.
