José Luis Hevia, Guido Peterssen and Mario Piattini, members of aQuantum, have co-authored the article entitled “Quantum Pharmacogenomics with QuantumPath on Amazon Braket” published in The QPath Blog.
In this post the authors discuss the characteristics of health and medicine applications, and present QuantumPath®, a platform designed and developed to accelerate the construction of hybrid software in the real world.
The publication summarizes a real project on quantum pharmacogenomics, in this case applied to aging, and the integration of QuantumPath® with Amazon Braket for the execution of the hybrid classical/quantum solution that will allow quantum services to be provided to doctors from their classical computers.
Based on the consideration that genomics is one of the most significant precision medicine drivers and is considered by many experts as the one with most disruptive potential in healthcare, the authors expose, through the structure of the article shown below, aspects relevant to the project “QHealth: Quantum pharmacogenomics applied to aging“:

The classical/quantum technological environment of the QHealth project will allow achieving its most human objective: To increase the longevity and quality of life of the elderly, something to which QHealth will contribute thanks to the results of the ongoing research into the relationships between genetic determinants and other variables in the health trajectory of the elderly throughout their lives.
The project “QHealth: Quantum Pharmacogenomics applied to aging” has a total budget of € 5,160,477.00 and has received a grant from Misiones 2020 program of the CDTI of € 3,671,281.69, and has been supported by the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación and by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
