The 2nd European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC) was held as a virtual event being hosted by the Irish Centre for High-End Computing and the National University of Ireland, Galway between 29th November and 2nd December 2021. The European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC) is the international conference of the European Quantum Flagship initiative.
In this context, Ezequiel Murina, José Luis Hevia, Guido Peterssen and Mario Piattini presented “Q Assets Compositor™: an easy path of compose quantum annealing solutions”.
In their analysis of the need to make it easier for developers to define annealing problems, the authors consider the fact that much of the existing research in the field of quantum annealing has focused on the needs of the quantum physicist or the quantum mathematician, but you have not considered the needs of the quantum software developer.
Bearing this situation in mind, the QuantumPath® team designed and developed a solution to this problem that is useful for any type of user, although it was specially conceived for quantum software developers: Q Assets Compositor™, a set of tools (Quantum Gates editor, Annealing composer, and DirectCode editor) for the visual design of quantum algorithms and apps in real-world architecture.
Q Assets Compositor™ is a technological solution that is part of QPath®, which, in its annealing version, offers user-friendly interfaces for the professional definition of annealing problems. At EQCT 2021 the authors presented the key features of this technological solution, which is the result of a creative research and development process that has led to the creation of an unusual tool for the real world specialized in quantum software development.
QPath® rigorously applies the principles of quantum computing and programming, the best practices of Quantum Software Engineering and Programming and, of course, the requirements defined by manufacturers for their ecosystems. In this way, QPath® ensures truly agnostic quantum software development, compatibility with the ecosystems of different quantum providers, and full and ongoing interoperability with them. These QuantumPath® features are fully embedded in the Q Assets Compositor™.
